About the Author
Being a journalist for more than 40 years has left me with an ingrained habit of writing.
I have worked at a tiny weekly newspaper and some of the most notorious (New York Post), biggest (New York Daily News) and best known (ABC News, CNN) news organizations.
This final writing project will be about what it's like to live with a two-year prognosis, and the effort to keep that time productive, upbeat and appreciative of the daily pleasures of life, including being with my family.
I am also the author of the raucous travel memoir "Three Cents a Mile," am married to the crack journalist Barbara Goldberg, and am the father of the amazing Maura and Paul Mooney.
I am grateful to still be writing.

About the Title
The symbol - 30 - is an old newspaper device back when stories were typed on paper.
At the end of each page was typed - more - , until the story came to an end. The end was marked with - 30 - .
It alerted the editor and later the typesetter that this was the end and he didn't have to look for any more type.
The origin of the symbol is unknown. You can find many explanations and theories, but not a definitive answer.
Much like our own stories.
